Kotarochi is a gamified utility tracker designed to help you manage real-life cat's health, diet, and schedule.

Kotarochi es un simulador de mascotas diseñado principalmente para ayudar tanto a rescatistas (de gatos) como a dueños de mascotas. Tiene administración de suministros, seguimiento médico, registro de peso, ¡y más!

Se recomienda usar la aplicación para Android y así aprovechar toda la funcionalidad de los recordatorios. ¡No olvides activar las notificaciones en el menú de "Ajustes"!

ADVERTENCIA: Para la versión web, dado que los datos de las mascotas están vinculados directamente a los datos del sitio web itch.io en tu navegador, borrar manualmente el caché, las cookies o los datos del sitio web eliminará permanentemente los datos de las mascotas. ¡Ten cuidado al borrar tu historial de navegación para garantizar la seguridad de tus compañeros!

Getting Started: The Void

When you first open the app, your interface might appear... well, simply put, empty. The start of your journey might require to keen observation and prompt action from your side.

• Language: The game's default language is Spanish. After adopting your first pet, you can navigate to the "Ajustes" tab to change the language to English from the drop-down menu.

Daily Care & Interaction

You can care for your companion by Feeding, Playing, Cleaning, and putting them to Sleep. Tap/click your companion at any time to interact with them and check their mood.

• Feeding: Serving a meal restores their Satiety. If their hunger drops critically low (below 20), a quick "Snack" will become available to help your companion in their time of need.
• Sleeping: Sleep is required to restore Energy, taking around 6 hours for a full recovery. If your pet is sleeping, normal interactions are unavailable... However, if it is an emergency (or not), try poking them.

Pantry & Smart Predictions

Record your physical cat food, litter, and medicine in the Pantry tab using real-world units like kilograms or cans. As you log meals, the app will help you predict when you will run out of supplies.

Logbook, Calendar & Exports

Use the Logbook to track weight changes and medical events like vaccinations or checkups. These logged dates, alongside your automated Pantry run-out warnings, are automatically plotted on your dynamic Calendar timeline.

• Hidden Feature: If you ever need to share your records with a vet, or see them display on a single screen, press and hold the Logbook tab button for exactly one full second to reveal the Export System and "Vet View".

Save Data & Progression

For the web app, your progress and logs are persistent and tied directly to your web browser. The app features an auto-save system that continuously backs up your data to your browser's local site storage.

WARNING: Because your save data is tied directly to your browser's site data for itch.io, manually clearing your browser cache, cookies, or site data will permanently erase your save file(s). Please be careful when clearing your browsing history to ensure your companion(s) remains safe!

Mobile Notifications

These are meant to work on the Android's version of the app.

By enabling the corresponding checkbox within the "Config" tab, you can opt-in to background push notifications.
